OVP launches second temporary shelter for frontliners at QMMC

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has launched the second site of its temporary shelter project for COVID-19 frontliners, The Oasis Project, at the Quirino Memorial Medical Center (QMMC).

This initiative is a collaboration between the OVP, its Angat Buhay partners, and private sector donors including IKEA Philippines.

The 51st Engineering Brigade of the Philippine Army assisted in building the shelters, which were donated by IKEA Philippines and arrived from Poland in May.

The QMMC was chosen as the second site because it has at least 100 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

These temporary shelters are the fourth such project by the OVP and its partners, with previous sites at the Lung Center of the Philippines, Manila Doctors Hospital, and Chinese Doctors Hospital.

Beyond temporary housing, the OVP's initiatives include millions worth of PPE, hot meals, shuttle services, medical supplies, support for COVID-19 testing, relief packs, transportation assistance, a community mart, and support for distance learning programs.
