OVP, DepEd confidential fund recipients include 'Magellan,' 'Fiona,' 'Ewan'

A new list of recipients for the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and Department of Education's (DepEd) confidential funds has surfaced, featuring unusual names like 'Magellan,' 'Fiona,' and 'Ewan,' fueling concerns about the authenticity of government disbursements.

These peculiar names were revealed by House Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega V, who presented a list that also includes names resembling known Filipino figures.

Specific individuals such as Honeylet Camille Sy, Feonna Biong, Feonna Villegas, and Joel Linangan are allegedly recipients of the OVP's P500 million confidential fund.

Meanwhile, Fiona Ranitez, Erwin Q. Ewan, Ellen Magellan, and Gary Tanada are purported recipients of portions of DepEd's P112.5 million confidential fund.

Notably, these individuals with odd names lack official records from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) but were included in the lists submitted by the OVP and DepEd to the Commission on Audit (COA).
