PAOCC: 8,000 foreign POGO workers still left for deportation
Over 11,000 foreign workers from the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) industry remain in the Philippines beyond the deadline.
Out of the initial 11,000, 3,000 have already been deported, leaving approximately 8,000 foreign POGO workers still to be sent back to their home countries.
The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) is coordinating with the respective embassies and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for the deportation process.
Cases have also been filed against former Bamban mayor Alice Guo, other local chief executives, and some government officials due to their links to POGO operations.
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) had previously canceled all licenses for POGO firms.
