Over 4,500 AFP reservists attend historic convention physically

The AFP National Reservist Convention CY 2025, coupled with the ARRAPI 2nd General Membership Conference, saw an unprecedented gathering of over 4,500 reservists physically and an additional 48,000 virtually, making it a historic event for the Philippine reservist force.

This significant assembly, held at One Ayala Mall in Makati, aimed to address the evolving security landscape and underscore the crucial role of reservists in national defense.

Jointly organized by ARRAPI and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) through the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Reserve Force Development (OJ9), the convention was spearheaded by ARRAPI Chairman Col. Michael "Mikee" Romero and AFP OJ9 Chief Maj. Gen. Gerold G. Gagan.

Secretary of National Defense Gilberto "Gibo" Teodoro Jr. graced the event as the Guest of Honor, emphasizing the importance of reservists in the nation's security framework.

The convention's theme, "Adapting to an Evolving Security Environment: Reservists at the Forefront of Cooperative Defense," focused on the increasing responsibilities of reservists in national defense, disaster response, and fostering community resilience.
