UAE sees encouraging turnout for Eleksyon 2025 online voting

The initial day of online overseas voting for Eleksyon 2025 in the United Arab Emirates saw a positive and encouraging turnout, according to the Philippine mission.

Ambassador Alfonso Ferdinand Ver described the turnout as promising, noting that it also helped speed up the online enrollment process.

Consul General Marford M. Angeles stated that the turnout was good compared to previous elections, as more voters could cast their ballots online without enduring the heat and queues at the consulate.

While voting in Abu Dhabi experienced some initial technical difficulties, these were promptly resolved by the 24/7 technical support from the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Many individuals sought assistance with online enrollment at the embassy polling precinct before casting their votes.

Online enrollment for overseas voters began on March 20, 2025, and will continue until May 7, 2025.

The current enrollment figures in Abu Dhabi represent approximately 5% of the total 66,001 registered voters.
