Ombudsman orders courtesy resignations for 204 appointees

Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla announced that 204 individuals appointed in July, shortly before the end of former Ombudsman Samuel Martires' term, will be asked to submit courtesy resignations and reapply for their positions.

Remulla stated that these appointees are still within their six-month probationary period, which allows for this process.

He expressed hope that the appointees are acting in good faith and encouraged them to reapply.

The Ombudsman also ordered a review of the office's admission and hiring processes to ensure fairness and transparency.

The office is seeking assistance from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to help evaluate these cases.
