OCTA: COVID-19 positive growth rate sa NCR, umangat sa 8%; pero walang upward trend
Despite an 8% positive weekly growth rate in COVID-19 cases, the OCTA Research group stated that there is no upward trend and attributed the increase to a possible backlog in reporting.
The NCR saw its weekly average of new cases rise from 404 to 435, with the reproduction number increasing to 0.52 from 0.37.
OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David expressed that the current numbers are likely a readjustment of data and not indicative of a new surge.
The Department of Health (DOH) also reported that hospital bed and ICU utilization rates in the NCR remain at low-risk levels.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire assured the public that there is currently no cause for concern based on available case metrics.
