OCD, NDRRMC on blue alert for Eleksyon 2025

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) has placed its regional offices on heightened alert for Eleksyon 2025, with the OCD-Ilocos Region specifically raising a blue alert status from May 9 to 14.

A blue alert signifies that officers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, and Philippine National Police will be on duty to respond to issues and requests.

OCD Administrator Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno emphasized the agency's crucial role in safeguarding lives, maintaining peace, and building public trust in the electoral process.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has elevated its alert status to blue to enhance monitoring and response capabilities.

Duty officers from key agencies will be stationed at the NDRRMC Operation Center during this period, and relevant offices are instructed to intensify their monitoring and reporting of election-related incidents.

OCD-Ilocos Region, in partnership with the Commission on Elections, will activate emergency operation centers from the regional to local level to ensure public safety and the smooth conduct of polls.

The Philippine Red Cross and the Department of Health will establish medical stations in strategic areas near polling centers.
