Jake Figueroa, Louna Ozar named Collegiate Press Corps UAAP Players of the Week

Jake Figueroa of National University and Louna Ozar of University of the Philippines have been named Collegiate Press Corps UAAP Players of the Week for October 9 to 15.

Figueroa was instrumental in NU's victories against UST and DLSU, averaging 13.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.0 steals, helping the NU Bulldogs climb to solo second place in the men's basketball tournament with a 4-1 record.

Ozar, who previously competed with Gilas Pilipinas Women in the Asian Games, posted norms of 15.5 points, 3.0 boards, 3.0 dimes, and 3.0 swipes for the top-ranked 5-0 Maroons.

The UP women's basketball team is currently undefeated in five games, marking their best start in 15 years.

Figueroa secured the men's weekly citation over other notable players from FEU, UP, La Salle, and Adamson, and was presented by San Miguel Corporation.

Apart from his stats, Figueroa also came up clutch in NU's thrilling overtime win against fellow contender La Salle, sinking a corner three late in regulation to force the extra period.
