Nurse, 2 others nabbed for selling COVID-19 vaccines

A nurse from Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center in Tondo, Manila, along with two other individuals, was apprehended for allegedly selling COVID-19 vaccines to workers of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators in Quezon City.

The Manila city government, through its Public Information Officer Jules Leonen, stated that the vaccines in question were not sourced from the Manila Health Department's stockpile, emphasizing the strict regulation of these vaccines by local government units.

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso has directed the Director of GABMMC, Dr. Teodoro Martin, to initiate administrative proceedings and file charges against the accused nurse, identified as Alexis Francisco de Guzman, who holds a Nurse III position.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested de Guzman, Kour Singh, and Calvin Roca, seizing approximately 300 doses of Sinovac vaccines contained in an icebox.

Mayor Domagoso condemned the unauthorized sale of vaccines as an illegal act that should not be tolerated and affirmed that the perpetrators will face legal consequences in court.
