NU retires Bella Belen's jersey number 4

National University (NU) has retired the jersey number 4 of star player Bella Belen, honoring her achievements with the Lady Bulldogs.

The jersey retirement ceremony took place at SM Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay during NU's pep rally for UAAP Season 88.

Belen is the first NU player in history to have her jersey retired, and the third in women's volleyball overall.

She anchored the Lady Bulldogs to their second straight women's volleyball title last May, ending her collegiate career with three championships.

Belen's NU career spanned 11 years, including her high school run where she steered NU Nazareth School girls volleyball team to six straight UAAP finals.

She joins Manila Santos-Ng's No. 14 jersey in La Salle and Rachel Anne Daquis' No. 3 in FEU as the only volleyball players to get their numbers retired in their school.

Belen left a lasting legacy in NU, winning eight championships from high school to college, laced by five MVP awards.
