NUNS crushes UPIS to grab solo fourth place in UAAP juniors basketball

National University-Nazareth School (NUNS) secured their third consecutive win in the UAAP Season 87 Junior High School Basketball Tournament by defeating University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) with a score of 102-78.

This victory improved the Bullpups' record to 5-4, allowing them to claim solo fourth place and break a three-way tie with De La Salle Zobel and Ateneo de Manila University.

Despite a slow start and a late UPIS rally that trimmed the lead to eight points at halftime, NUNS pulled away in the third quarter with a significant 17-2 run to establish a commanding 78-56 lead.

NUNS completed a sweep against UPIS in the elimination round.

NUNS head coach Kevin Castro emphasized focusing on one game at a time and sticking to the game plan during training, rather than the winning streak itself.
