Meneses captures first UAAP title with NU Lady Bulldogs

Sherwin Meneses has won his first UAAP women's volleyball title as head coach of the NU Lady Bulldogs in his very first season with the team.

The Lady Bulldogs successfully defended their UAAP title by sweeping rival La Salle in the finals, with scores of 25-19, 25-18, 25-19 in Game 2.

Meneses, who also coaches the Creamline Cool Smashers to multiple championships in the professional league, acknowledged past criticisms about coaching established teams but reiterated his focus on guiding players.

He had previously coached the Adamson Lady Falcons from 2012 to 2016 without winning a UAAP championship.

Meneses expressed gratitude to the NU players and highlighted the great chemistry built in a short amount of time, stating this UAAP title is special and he hopes for more.

He also mentioned that it was not difficult to work with champion players on the NU team, who readily committed to his system.
