NU Lady Bulldogs eye 8th UAAP tennis finals appearance

National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs have secured a spot in the UAAP Season 87 women's tennis finals, setting up a championship clash with the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Female Tennisters.

This marks NU's eighth finals appearance in the last nine seasons.

The Lady Bulldogs clinched their finals berth by sweeping Ateneo de Manila University in their recent showdown.

Jasmine Jaran secured NU's victory with a crucial win in the third singles match against Ateneo's Althea Martirez.

NU co-captain JM Carcueva acknowledged the pressure of the finals but emphasized the team's commitment to double their efforts in training and focus on improving their skills.

Carcueva also highlighted the importance of co-captains supporting and encouraging their teammates to maintain confidence during matches.

The team's dominance was established early by Carcueva's commanding win in the second singles match and Danna Abad's swift victory in the first singles match.
