NU Bulldogs snatch first win against FEU Tamaraws after late-game free throw misses

The National University (NU) Bulldogs secured their first win in the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball tournament by defeating the Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws, 62-60.

The Bulldogs achieved victory after FEU rookie Janrey Pasaol missed three crucial free throws in the final 1.1 seconds of the game.

Despite a slow start and trailing by as much as 17 points in the first period, NU's defense held the Tamaraws to only five points in the final quarter, including a 15-0 run.

NU coach Jeff Napa described his team as 'flat' and 'tense' due to the previous close game against La Salle and the absence of injured foreign student-athlete Mo Diassana.

Key contributors for NU included PJ Palacielo with nine points and six rebounds, and Jake Figueroa and Kenshin Padrones, who both added eight points.
