Flooding isolates 5-10 barangays in Northern Samar

Five to ten barangays in Northern Samar remain isolated following massive flooding last week, affecting an estimated 2,000 to 3,000 residents.

The Armed Forces have already begun relief operations to these isolated areas, utilizing helicopters to deliver much-needed food packs.

Despite the ongoing isolation of some barangays, 98% of the residents affected by the flooding have already returned to their homes.

The extreme rainfall in Catarman, which experienced over a month's worth of rain in a single day, was attributed by authorities to the convergence of cold and warm air known as the shear line.
