NLEX to have nightly lane closures for new interchange construction

NLEX Corporation has alerted motorists to nightly lane closures on the North Luzon Expressway in Sto. Tomas, Pampanga, from April 21 to April 25.

These closures, occurring between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. daily, are to facilitate the construction of the new Sto. Tomas Interchange by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The innermost lanes on both southbound and northbound sections, approximately 500 meters each, will be affected.

DPWH Region III Director Engr. Roseller A. Tolentino stated the interchange is part of the Greater Pampanga Circumferential Road Masterplan.

It will also link to the planned Lubao-Guagua-Minalin-Sto. Tomas (LGMST) Bypass Road.

Tolentino added that the interchange will provide access to new infrastructure, including a hospital and university, aiming to drive local growth.
