Nine Discaya-owned firms in Pasig City ordered closed for P1.1B unpaid taxes

Pasig City has ordered the closure of nine companies owned by Pacifico and Sarah Discaya due to over P1.1 billion in unpaid taxes and other violations.

The closure orders were issued on November 29 after the city revoked the Discayas' business permits for failure to settle more than P1 billion in taxes.

The firms, including St. Gerard Construction, were also reportedly operating without occupancy permits.

The Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board also earlier revoked the contractor's licenses of the nine construction companies.

Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla said that the Discaya couple may be facing nine cases in total.
