MMDA GM Nicolas Torre III appointed spokesperson

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Nicolas Torre III will serve as the agency's spokesperson.

MMDA Chairman Romando Artes announced Torre's dual role, stating this will allow him to focus more on administrative and planning functions.

Torre aims to reinforce the discipline of traffic enforcers, evaluate traffic management strategies, and implement a five-minute response time for emergencies on Metro Manila roads.

Torre mentioned traffic, flood, and solid waste management as his key priorities.

Speculation that Torre is being considered to replace Artes was denied by both Torre and Artes, with Artes stating he was instructed to ensure Torre's success at the MMDA.

Artes acknowledged Torre's qualifications for the chairman position but stated that Torre's focus is currently on his role as general manager.
