NGCP announces 1.23% drop in electricity rates for September billing cycle

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced a 1.23% decrease in overall electricity transmission rates for the September billing cycle, resulting in a rate of P1.3998 per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

This reduction is attributed to lower ancillary services and transmission wheeling rates.

Transmission wheeling rates fell by 0.84% to P0.5920 per kWh in September, reflecting the cost of delivering electricity from generators to the distribution system.

Ancillary services rates declined by 1.70% to P0.6546 per kWh, covering costs from the Reserve Market and generators to stabilize the grid.

NGCP does not earn from ancillary service rates, as they are remitted directly to generating companies.

Rates dropped by 3.02% in Luzon, 6.62% in the Visayas, and 4.56% in Mindanao.
