Negros Occidental Capitol reopens after COVID-19 lockdown

The Provincial Capitol of Negros Occidental has reopened after a five-day lockdown due to an increase in COVID-19 cases among its employees.

Governor Eugene Jose Lacson confirmed that seven Capitol workers tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of infected provincial government employees to 22.

He assured employees that it is now safe to return to work, as the infected individuals have been isolated and are receiving proper care.

Of the total cases, eight employees have fully recovered after completing their quarantine and testing negative.

Additionally, 142 initial close contacts of infected employees have also tested negative for the virus and are in good health.
