Typhoon Carina, habagat, TD Butchoy claim 36 lives

A total of 36 individuals have died due to Typhoon Carina, the southwest monsoon (habagat), and Tropical Depression Butchoy.

The deaths were attributed to drowning, landslide, electrocution, and falling trees.

Of the 36 fatalities, 14 have been confirmed, including five in Calabarzon, four in Zamboanga Peninsula, two in Central Luzon, and one each in Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, and BARMM.

The validation process for the remaining 22 deaths is ongoing, with 15 reported in the National Capital Region (NCR), five in Calabarzon, and one each in Ilocos Region and BARMM.

Six people are reported missing, with two in Ilocos Region and one in Northern Mindanao still being validated.

Six individuals have been reported injured, including four in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and two in Northern Mindanao.

The weather disturbances have affected over 4.5 million people, comprising 1.2 million families, across all regions of the country.

Approximately 152,800 individuals are being aided in evacuation centers, while another 641,944 persons are being aided outside.
