NCAA Season 95 games to resume March 16

The NCAA Management Committee (MANCOM) has decided to resume all remaining games and events for Season 95 on March 16, ending a five-week halt.

Several sports including indoor volleyball, football, lawn tennis, and soft tennis were stopped in mid-tournament and will pick up from where they left off.

Other events scheduled for resumption are track and field from March 16 to 21, 15-under basketball on April 25, and beach volleyball on April 29.

The Cheerleading Competition will proceed as planned on March 30, but without the awarding of the Overall Championship.

The decision to postpone games was made on February 13 after the Commission of Higher Education (CHED) advised against events with large gatherings due to COVID-19.

The MANCOM consulted with CHED, the Department of Education (DepEd), and the Department of Health (DOH), along with school physicians, to ensure the safety of resuming the competitions.

The NCAA calendar is moved by two months from its supposed end in March to May, but this poses no threat to next season's schedule as Season 96 will now begin in August instead of June.

The MANCOM also discussed television coverage, aiming for key activities like volleyball and cheer dance to have broadcast.
