NBI to probe unauthorized COVID-19 vaccine use

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will continue to investigate the Presidential Security Group (PSG) and other reports concerning the alleged unauthorized use of COVID-19 vaccines.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has ordered the NBI to probe the importation, sale, distribution, and administration of unregistered vaccines.

This investigation proceeds despite President Duterte's warning against a legislative probe into the PSG, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines' decision to call off its own inquiry.

The NBI's Special Action Unit, led by Atty. Emeterio Dongallo Jr., is tasked with heading the investigation.

NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin assured that the investigation will push through as ordered by Guevarra.

If evidence warrants, the NBI will file appropriate charges against all individuals found responsible for unlawful acts related to these unregistered vaccines.
