NBI seizes documents in Zaldy Co condo raid amid bid rigging probe

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents have found documents during their inspection of former Ako Bicol Party-List Representative Zaldy Co's condominium units in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

The inspection, authorized by the Makati Regional Trial Court, is part of an effort to gather evidence on alleged bid rigging in multibillion-peso flood control projects.

The search, which is limited to documents in plain view, will continue for 14 days, with court personnel and Co's lawyers present.

The Office of the Ombudsman previously filed corruption and malversation charges against Co concerning an alleged P289 million anomalous flood control project in Oriental Mindoro.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. confirmed that arrest warrants have been issued for Co and his co-accused, though he is believed to be in Portugal.

Twelve Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials linked to the Oriental Mindoro project have been suspended for six months, with one pleading not guilty to graft charges.
