NBI-CebDO nabs two for human trafficking, rescues five women

The National Bureau of Investigation-Cebu District Office (NBI-CEBDO) arrested two men, Dave Arvin Oro, 29, and Christian Suria Lauron, 19, in Liloan, Cebu for human trafficking.

The operation on February 28, 2025, resulted in the rescue of five women: two aged 18 and 22, and three minors aged 14 to 16.

The suspects allegedly brought the women to a resto bar in Barangay Catarman, Liloan, where they offered sexual services for P1,500 to P2,000.

Atty. Nino Rodriguez, NBI-CebDO agent-in-case, stated that male clients paid an additional P500 'take out' fee.

The NBI initiated the entrapment operation after receiving reports of the suspects' involvement in human trafficking.

The suspects are currently detained, and the rescued victims have been turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Rodriguez noted that the management of the resto bar could not be implicated as the suspects operated like customers, with transactions often occurring outside the establishment.
