The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested a vlogger for allegedly manipulating a statement by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to falsely suggest his support for drug legalization.

The doctored post began circulating on Facebook, prompting the NBI to launch an investigation.
NBI chief Jaime Santiago stated that the agency is closely monitoring online activities, particularly from vloggers, and warned against spreading disinformation.
The arrested vlogger confessed to profiting from the dissemination of fake news and apologized to President Marcos Jr.
Santiago advised the public to fact-check information online, emphasizing that spreading false information is a punishable crime.
