Navy yacht BRP Ang Pangulo serves as quarantine facility for 93 COVID-19 recovered military front-liners

The presidential yacht, BRP Ang Pangulo, has served as a floating quarantine facility for 93 recovering military front-liners infected with COVID-19 since April.

The ship, currently docked at Manila South Harbor, began its function as a recovery facility on April 3.

As of Monday, August 17, 2020, only 17 patients remain in isolation on the BRP Ang Pangulo.

Vice Admiral Giovanni Bacordo stated that the facility will continue to serve military frontliners as it has only reached a little over half of its 28-bed maximum capacity.

The President's instruction is for the BRP Ang Pangulo to accommodate only frontliners.

Aside from BRP Ang Pangulo, all navy bases and stations in the country have been directed to build emergency quarantine facilities.
