Napolcom employee nabbed in entrapment for alleged estafa

A National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) employee, identified as 'Noel', was apprehended by the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in an entrapment operation at Camp Crame for alleged estafa and corruption.

The suspect was accused by a former police major of soliciting P20,000 to expedite an appeal concerning a case before NAPOLCOM.

Noel allegedly misrepresented himself, claiming connections with influential figures to expedite the appeal process.

The operation was conducted by the CIDG with the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) at the PNP Mortuary parking area.

NAPOLCOM Commissioner Ralph Calinisan condemned the act, stating it violates the commission's mandate.

The suspect will face charges for estafa, violation of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, and violations of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
