Nadine Lustre files safe spaces complaint vs social media attacks

Nadine Lustre has filed a complaint for violation of the Safe Spaces Act against relentless and malicious attacks she has been experiencing on social media.

The actress' legal action is supported by incoming ML partylist Representative Leila de Lima, whom Lustre endorsed during the recent midterm elections.

De Lima emphasized that Lustre's move is crucial, especially as social media is sometimes used to silence individuals advocating for justice and reform.

She further stated that freedom of expression should not be used to attack truth, dignity, and democracy, differentiating between genuine opinions and malicious disinformation campaigns.

De Lima highlighted that some social media content is part of a deliberate strategy to harass, discredit, and instill fear rather than express opinions.
