MWSS orders water firms to suspend disconnections until Aug 8

The MWSS Regulatory Office has ordered water concessionaires Maynilad and Manila Water to suspend service disconnections for customers in areas affected by recent storms and the habagat until August 8.

This directive aims to ensure continuous access to clean and safe water, which is crucial for public health during this critical period.

The suspension applies to customers impacted by typhoons Crising, Dante, and Emong, as well as habagat-related disruptions.

However, disconnections will still proceed for cases involving water service tampering, violations of the Water Crisis Act, or other illegal activities.

The recent monsoon rains and tropical cyclones have tragically resulted in at least 25 deaths.
