Moro activist Lidasan joins Makabayan senatorial slate

Moro activist Amirah Lidasan has been announced as the 11th senatorial candidate for the Makabayan slate in the 2025 elections, highlighting the importance of representation for Moro and Indigenous Peoples in the government.

Lidasan expressed the necessity for the voices of the Moro people to be heard in government, referencing her previous attempts to gain representation through Bayan Muna and Suara Bangsamoro.

She previously served as the third nominee for the Bayan Muna Partylist in the 2022 elections, although the partylist did not win reelection.

Lidasan shared that her experiences growing up amidst massacres in the Bangsamoro region motivated her to become a writer and advocate, aiming to change perceptions about the Bangsamoro people.
