MMFF entry 'Call Me Mother' cuts major parkour scene

Director Jun Robles Lana revealed that a significant parkour action scene from his Metro Manila Film Festival 2025 entry, "Call Me Mother," was ultimately cut from the final film.

The deleted scene featured the lead character, Twinkle, portrayed by Vice Ganda, performing elaborate parkour stunts while running through a traffic-clogged alley in a desperate attempt to get her child to the hospital.

Lana explained that the decision to remove the scene, despite the extensive planning and a full day of shooting, was made to ensure the final cut of the movie was as impactful as possible.

The filming of the parkour sequence was a complex operation, involving weeks of planning, simultaneous rehearsals, a large crew including VFX teams and stunt directors, and a high-end camera setup, all while Vice Ganda performed stunts in a harness despite the rain.
