MMDA to implement holiday traffic measures Nov 17 to Dec 25

The MMDA will implement traffic management measures from November 17 to December 25 to address expected holiday congestion in Metro Manila.

Road excavation activities will be suspended during this period, with exceptions for government flagship projects, DPWH bridge repairs, flood interceptor projects, and emergency leak repairs.

Participating malls will adjust their weekday operating hours to 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and will not hold mall-wide sales on these days.

Mall deliveries are restricted to weekdays between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

MMDA Chairman Romando Artes noted that similar measures have been effective in previous years, when vehicular traffic typically increases by 10 to 25 percent.
