MMDA imposes window hours on provincial buses lacking permits

Provincial buses entering Metro Manila terminals are now subject to window hours from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. if they lack QR codes and special permits, a policy agreed upon by bus companies and the MMDA.

This has led to significant passenger delays, with some waiting up to 12 hours in terminals like those in Cubao, Quezon City.

Passengers expressed frustration, citing lack of advisories and the inconvenience, especially for those with heavy luggage who prefer not to transfer to integrated terminal exchanges.

However, MMDA chairman Romando Artes clarified that the window hours do not prohibit buses from traveling outside this period, stating that the restriction is not absolute.
