Miss Universe Philippines calls for unity amid delegate controversies

The Miss Universe Philippines Organization (MUPH) is urging pageant fans to foster unity and positivity following recent issues that stirred tensions among the global pageant community.

MUPH released a statement asking supporters to focus on celebrating the delegates instead of engaging in negativity or calls for cancellation.

The organization commended Miss Universe Organization President Raul Rocha for his prompt response to the recent issues, stating that the MUO has taken necessary steps to address the matter.

The primary incident involved Miss Universe Thailand National Director Nawat Itsaragrisil singling out Mexico's representative Fatima Bosch and calling security on her.

Reigning titleholder Victoria Kjaer Theilvig and other queens walked out in support of Fatima, who was upset by comments, particularly being called 'dumb'.

MUPH expressed hope that incidents involving disparaging remarks and racial stereotyping will no longer occur, emphasizing that such behavior has no place in a community that upholds compassion, education, and inclusion.
