Mexico wins Miss Universe; Philippines' Manalo is 3rd runner-up

Fatima Bosch of Mexico was crowned the 74th Miss Universe, with Ahtisa Manalo of the Philippines securing the third runner-up position.

Filipino celebrities and content creators expressed admiration for Manalo's performance, alongside surprise and disappointment regarding the pageant's final results.

Actress Ruffa Gutierrez voiced her shock, tweeting multiple times about her disbelief and stating that some strong contestants were ranked lower than expected.

Despite the unexpected placements, Gutierrez congratulated Manalo, the Miss Universe Philippines organization, and their team for their dedication and hard work.

Vice Ganda expressed strong disappointment, suggesting the Philippines was "stolen" from, but still congratulated Manalo.

Catriona Gray questioned the importance of the Q&A portion and praised Manalo's efforts, while Pia Wurtzbach celebrated Manalo's journey and representation of the Philippines.

Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up Shamcey Supsup hinted at a potential "reverse" in the results with her "Miss UniReverse?" comment.
