Bus company manager, partner ambushed and killed in Cotabato

Mindanao Star Bus Company area manager Armando Yap Lu, 79, and his live-in partner Marilyn Lunggakit Dulay, 62, were ambushed and killed by gunmen in Kabacan, Cotabato on Monday, February 10.

The couple was traveling in a gray Toyota Fortuner when assailants in another vehicle opened fire along the national highway in Barangay Kayaga.

Both victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

Investigators are considering the possible involvement of terminated subordinates, suspected of mishandling fare collections, as a motive.

The suspects fled toward Carmen town, and a manhunt is underway involving local police and the Army's 602nd Infantry Brigade.

Cotabato Governor Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza condemned the incident and offered a cash incentive for information leading to the culprits' arrest.
