Young big man Migs Palanca joins UP
Former NU-Nazareth Bullpups star Miguel Palanca has committed to play for the UP Fighting Maroons.
UP head coach Goldwin Monteverde highlighted the need for size and saw Palanca's potential to significantly contribute to the team.
Palanca, a 6-foot-7 player, will provide much-needed depth for UP, especially with the departure of key players like Quentin Millora-Brown, Aldous Torculas, and Francis Lopez.
Despite initial intentions to join the NU Bulldogs program, Palanca was also pursued by other UAAP and NCAA schools before ultimately choosing UP.
During his time with the Bullpups, Palanca averaged 9.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, and over a block per game, shooting 57% from the field.
Palanca will have five years of eligibility with the Fighting Maroons, starting in Season 88.
