PH banks restore systems after Microsoft outage

Several Philippine banks, including BDO Unibank, Metrobank, RCBC, and the Bank of the Philippine Islands, have restored their online and digital systems after experiencing disruptions from a global Microsoft outage.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) confirmed that some of its supervised financial institutions experienced disruptions but have addressed the issue, with others already restoring affected systems.

The BSP had required affected institutions to provide updates and activate their resilience and continuity plans.

The BSP's Peso Real Time Gross Settlement System (PhilPassPlus), PESONet, Instapay, ATMs, and checks remained unaffected.

The BSP stated that the financial system remains resilient, with alternative channels and digital platforms available.

Cebu Pacific Air was also affected by disruptions with technology partners Navitaire, leading to flight cancellations.
