MHD confirms no nCoV cases in Manila

The Manila Health Department (MHD) has confirmed that there are no cases of the novel coronavirus (nCoV) in Manila.

This clarification comes after unverified reports circulated online about a Chinese patient at Metropolitan Hospital in Tondo, Manila.

The Chinese national, a 27-year-old male POGO worker from Hubei, China, was hospitalized with fever and cough, but health officials found no history of travel to Wuhan or exposure to a positive case.

The patient was diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia and is reportedly recovering well without fever.

MHD is actively intensifying its information campaign in public schools and barangays about nCoV transmission precautions.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information and to refrain from panicking.
