Mexico confirms fourth coronavirus case

Mexico has confirmed its fourth case of the coronavirus, a 20-year-old woman from Coahuila state who recently traveled to Milan.

She is asymptomatic and is under isolation at home, with eight other people currently being tested for suspected infection.

The other three confirmed cases involve men who recently traveled to Italy, with two in Mexico City and one in Sinaloa state.

All confirmed cases are considered imported, and officials previously stated there was no evidence of human-to-human transmission within Mexico.

The news of the cases led to a significant drop in Mexico's main stock index and a fall in the peso against the dollar.

Officials indicated that the symptoms observed so far are mild and there is no immediate reason to close schools or advise people to stay home from work.
