Metro Manila's largest COVID-19 quarantine facility to open Aug 25

The largest COVID-19 quarantine facility in Metro Manila, with 525 beds, is set to open on August 25 to house asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic patients.

This mega quarantine facility, located in Parañaque City, was made possible through the donations of the Razon Group, Prime Metro BMD Corporation, and Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, Inc.

Sec. Vince Dizon expressed gratitude for the donations and the assistance provided by Meralco and Maynilad Water Services Inc. for power and water connections.

This new facility is part of a larger plan to build additional COVID-19 facilities that will collectively offer 3,000 beds for Metro Manila, Bulacan, and the Calabarzon Region.

These facilities are crucial for isolating the majority of COVID-19 cases, which are mild or asymptomatic, allowing them to recover for approximately two weeks.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed 300 quarantine facilities nationwide and is currently constructing 95 more, with completion expected by early September.
