Metro Manila judges agree to mandatory Covid-19 testing

Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta announced that some Metro Manila judges who were initially reluctant to undergo mandatory Covid-19 testing have eventually agreed.

Peralta mentioned that these senior judges, some around 60 years old, may have been worried about contracting the virus or discovering they were sick.

He acknowledged that some judges outside Metro Manila are also interested in free testing but face transportation challenges to the Supreme Court.

Associate Justice Marvic Leonen expressed disappointment that some Metro Manila judges initially refused testing.

Peralta directed Court Administrator Midas Marquez to explain the importance of testing to the judges.

Marquez previously stated that rapid testing was initially offered only to Metro Manila judges as the region is the epicenter of the outbreak.
