Metro Manila COVID-19 positivity rate drops to 4.2%

The COVID-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila has decreased to 4.2% as of July 8, down from 4.8% on July 1.

Octa Research fellow Guido David reported the decline, noting that Bulacan and Cavite also experienced reduced positivity rates below 5%.

Several provinces, including Bataan, Cagayan, Isabela, La Union, and Tarlac, saw their COVID-19 positivity rates decrease.

However, upticks in positivity rates were observed in Camarines Sur, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Quezon, Rizal, Zambales, Batangas, Benguet, Pampanga, and Pangasinan.

The nationwide COVID-19 positivity rate also saw a slight decrease, moving from 6.4% on July 8 to 6.3% on July 9.
