Meralco sends 50 engineers, linemen to aid Odette-hit areas

Meralco is sending around 50 engineers and linemen to assist in power restoration efforts in areas devastated by Typhoon Odette.

A group of 25 Meralco personnel has already arrived in Cebu and is working with the Department of Energy and Visayan Electric Co. (VECO) to assess the damage.

The company is coordinating with the Philippine Navy and PLDT for the transport of additional personnel, vehicles, generator sets, and heavy equipment.

Meralco has additional personnel and generator sets on standby for deployment to other affected regions.

Through its foundation, Meralco is collaborating with various organizations to provide immediate relief to typhoon victims.

Meralco PowerGen Corporation and Global Business Power Corporation are donating 20,000 liters of diesel to support PLDT and Smart's restoration of telecommunications services.
