Mayor Garcia-Frasco appointed as next Tourism Sec

President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has appointed Liloan Mayor Christina Garcia-Frasco as the next secretary of the Department of Tourism (DOT).

Garcia-Frasco accepted the appointment, vowing to support the incoming administration's vision to revitalize tourism for post-pandemic economic growth.

She expressed gratitude and humility in accepting the offer, emphasizing her firsthand experience with tourism's economic impact and the effects of the pandemic in Cebu.

Her priorities include strong partnerships with LGUs and stakeholders, infrastructure investment, sustainability, innovation, job generation, and social protections for tourism workers.

Garcia-Frasco also thanked Vice President-elect Sara Duterte for entrusting her with the role of her spokesperson and looks forward to serving with the new administration.
