Maynilad water rates to increase by P0.14/cu.m., Manila Water to decrease by P0.15/cu.m. starting Oct 1

The MWSS board of trustees has approved fourth-quarter water rate adjustments for Maynilad and Manila Water, effective October 1, 2025.

Maynilad will implement a rate hike of P0.14 per cubic meter due to its Foreign Currency Differential Adjustment (FCDA) being set at -P0.19 per cubic meter.

Conversely, Manila Water customers will benefit from a P0.15 per cubic meter decrease as its FCDA was set at P0.38 per cubic meter.

The FCDA is a quarterly tariff mechanism that adjusts water rates to reflect fluctuations in the peso against foreign currencies, managing payments for foreign-denominated loans used in infrastructure projects.

For Maynilad residential customers, bills will increase by P0.40 for those consuming 10 cu.m. or less, P1.53 for 20 cu.m., and P3.13 for 30 cu.m.

Manila Water customers consuming 10 cu.m. or less will experience a P0.64 decrease in their bills, with reductions of P1.43 for 20 cu.m. and P2.91 for 30 cu.m.

MWSS also reminded low-income households to apply for the Enhanced Lifeline Program (ELP), which offers discounted rates and FCDA exemptions for qualified beneficiaries consuming up to 20 cubic meters monthly.
