Mav Gonzales and Matthew Valeña expecting first child

Kapuso journalist Mav Gonzales and her husband Matthew Valeña are expecting their first child, a "honeymoon baby."

Gonzales shared the pregnancy news during a guest appearance on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," revealing the positive test result came shortly after her return to the Philippines.

She had been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and an infection prior to her wedding, which her doctor had previously advised could make conceiving difficult.

Gonzales and Valeña were both surprised by the unexpected pregnancy, as it was unplanned.

The couple tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony in October, after announcing their engagement in June.
