Marcos orders passport cancellation for ex-Rep Zaldy Co amid corruption allegations

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced that the passport of former Ako Bicol Representative Zaldy Co has been canceled.

Marcos instructed the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to coordinate with embassies worldwide to prevent Co from hiding in other countries.

The DFA and PNP are also tasked to report Co's movements to facilitate his return to the Philippines.

Co, founder of Sunwest Corp., which is linked to substandard flood control projects and identified as a key figure in a corruption scheme at the Department of Public Works and Highways, left the country in mid-2025.

He has refused to return to the Philippines amid allegations of receiving billions of pesos in kickbacks for anomalous projects and has accused President Marcos Jr. of corruption himself.

Marcos and the Palace have repeatedly dismissed Co's accusations.
